Outside of each of the cottages is a water spicket and a warm water shower. There are no bathrooms in the cottages. The problem with the entire Cape, and most of the Outer Banks and Pamlico Sound, is that it’s Hurricane Surge Zone. In Cape Fear/Kure Beach all the homes (also painted in these pastel colors that make the neighborhood look like Godzilla threw up a bunch of candy hearts, they’re just monstrously huge) have only their garage on the first floor because they know it will get flooded. So it’s pretty, just don’t plan a visit in August and September.
Hurricanes do NOT occur daily on the sound. It is a beautiful and peaceful place the majority of the time. Give it a chance-I know you will love it.
