225 Square Foot Cabin on the Mendocino Coast

My wife and I recently took the family (two kids + two dogs) on a short vacation to the Mendocino Coast. The house pictured here is limited to two people and doesn’t allow dogs, so we couldn’t stay in it this time; but the next time the two of us go alone, I want to stay in this tiny house!

“Remote, quiet cabin with loft bedroom and small, southern-exposure deck offer creative sanctuary. Efficient galley, wood stove, on-demand heater and hot water, handcrafted woodwork. Rustic, yet elegant. Dozens of beaches, trails, bikeways, rivers, state parks to explore. Main room is 225 sq ft with cathedral ceiling and a 120 sq ft loft.” – Karen

  1. This is an absolutely beautiful little house! I’m looking at the pictures for a general feel of the layout and wondering if there’s a tiny bathroom space included that just isn’t shown.

Here again a cut house. Bathroom? What about the insulation? I keep seeing these houses built with no insulation. The only place they would be livable is in a very warm climate.

    1. As a guest house near the northern California coast the lack of insulation would work in all but the coldest times. There is a ‘normal’ bathroom in this house.

  3. It’s amazing this is a small House that is really beautiful, I want to see the picture it seemed to dedicate it because the atmosphere is cool and comfortable, but is there room small including bathrooms that simply are not shown.

  5. gorgeous !
We may travel to North CA soon. I’d love to stay here ( or someplace like it !).

  6. It seems a little large to be a Tiny House, what are the dimensions? In addition, I live in Canada and it would definitely have to be insulated which I guess would not be a problem if the shell material was larger….i.e. to 2×6.

  7. bathroom is probably the small extension with single window, in the back.
