The Pink, Swedish Fire Truck in Vestby

This used to be the personell car for the chief of the fire department in Göteborg, Sweden, but we have honored our favourite B&Bs, the English, and the Scotish…The van sleeps 3 but is most comfortable for two; we have made a nice double bed and a little sofa.” – Airbnb.com

HALO – Passive Solar Home Designed by Swedish Students

Measuring 645 sq foot, HALO takes its name and shape from the rainbow-like optical phenomenon around the sun. It was designed with small private rooms and large entertaining areas to shift people away from the growing trend of social isolation…

Its curvy roof is made from monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic solar cells on acrylic covered with a high strength polymer. This was mounted on a thin waterproof polycarbonate membrane and shaped into a canopy with indoor and outdoor spaces.” – Inhabitat

Small Swedish Apartment Exudes Class & Charm

This 470 square foot apartment from Gothenburd, Sweden, dates back to the early 19th century. The interior has gone through a major overhaul to create a warm and welcoming home, while still maintaining it’s original character.Despite it’s relatively small size, the apartment feels spacious and airy thanks to its tall ceiling and open-plan living space. The only area that isn’t open to the rest of the home is the bathroom.” – Niall

Swedish Cabin with Rooftop Garden

The Swedish company Jabo has launched “Steps 15,” a small prefab house with a lot of ingenious features. The outdoor staircase that leads up to the roof terrace has plant containers and hides a retractable outdoor kitchen.  On the opposite side is placed a small storage room and a bench that also conceals storage. Large sliding glass doors and windows on three sides make this a very contemporary guest house, hobby room or cabin. “Steps 15” is designed by architect Rahel Belatchew Lerdell.” – Living in a shoebox

Aether – Journal | Hus-1 Tiny House

An organic design that breaks the box. It’s not easy to build a curved building like this but the effect is beautiful.

“Designed and built by Swedish architect Torsten Ottesjö, this thin wooden sliver has a footprint of only 270 square feet, but comfortably houses two people year round. It comes complete with kitchen, dinning table, sleep quarters, and other integrated functional spaces.”
