I don’t believe in mandatory vaccination; BUT, I don’t have a problem with discrimination on the basis of vaccination status.
I am looking into starting a licensed home day care here in Washington State, and it’s my understanding that I am not allowed to discriminate, when accepting children into my care, on the basis of whether they have been vaccinated or not; and am not allowed to tell parents of other children that there is an unvaccinated child in their midst (even if the child is not identified – although I suppose in a small enough setting that could be a confidentiality issue).
I guess I’m willing to allow state funded child care (and education systems) to do their thing but really wish private care providers could do ours as well, which would probably result in a migration by thoughtful, informed parents, to privately funded care settings (I’m sure at least partially the reason it’s not legal to discriminate on this basis).
