The Israel House – Pittwater, Sydney, Australia

The Israel House, built for graphic designer Ken Israel, by architects Peter Stutchbury and Phoebe Pape, was built in the bushy hill country overlooking Pittwater in Sydney, Australia’s northern peninsula.  The three story house, built alongside a rocky hillside, extends far into the canopy of the surrounding trees.  The ground level houses the utilities of the house, including the bathroom and laundry facilities.  The middle floor is the main living area, which includes the kitchen, and the main entry way to the house.  From the living room, stairs lead up to the top story, which is the bedroom. ” – Forrest Damon Faulkner
