Yonderosa Update

One of the tiny house projects I’ve been following this past year is the cabin nicknamed Yonderosa. The latest blog post is a great summary of all the progress made on this tiny house in a remote spot up in eastern Washington. Yonderosa Update

Guodros Medis in Lithuania

I was recently introduced to this tiny house builder in Lithuania. They sell many small log homes that can serve as wooden summerhouses, garden houses, chalets, garages, and saunas. Using Google Translate you can read their website in English (although for some reason the images get turned off). Guodros Medis in Lithuania

Urban Rancher Update

I’ve been really impressed with the progress the Urban Rancher has been making in the mountains outside Los Angeles. His simple design and good choice of materials is going to give him and great little remote cabin. His most recent update was to add galvalume roofing. Urban Rancher Update

Urban Rancher Weatherproofs

Feeling the cold begin to settle into the mountains around Los Angeles, yes it can actually snow there, the Urban Rancher works though the pain in his hands caused by days of hammering and begins to close in his cabin. Urban Rancher Weatherproofs

Derek Diedricksen’s Vermont Cabin

I was recently contacted by a fellow named Derek Alexander Diedricksen who is in the process of writing a book called, “Humble Homes, Simple Shacks, Cozy Cottages, Ramshackle Retreats, Funky Forts, and Anything Else We Could Squeeze in Here.”  It turns out that Derek is quite a scavenger-builder himself. Cabana Village Cabin Kits

Here’s a cabin builder in Wilmington, Delaware that sells cabin kits. They seem reasonably priced and would make it a bit easier for novice builders to setup a small cabin. The cabin pictured here is a 12×12 kit with an 8×12 interior plus deck. I really like the slightly whimsical design. Cabana Village Cabin Kits

Wee Cabin Company

While doing some research on Thoreau’s Walden cabin I accidently ran across this cabin builder in Ely Minnesota. They build some really nice storybook timber frame cabins that range in size from 10′ by 10′ to 14′ by 18′. Wee Cabin Company
