  • Ed’s Shed

A fellow named Ed built this tiny house for $50 to use as a place to sleep while attending a 4-day music festival. He hauled it there in the back of his truck.

While Ed’s shed is a bit on the funky side I can see how something like this with just a little more time and effort could be a much safer place for someone to sleep and a big step up from a tent.

  • Dan’s Tiny House – Walls Framed

Dan sent me news of the tiny house he’s building for his mom the other day and I posted news of it on Tiny House Design. I just checked back and he’s got his walls up. He’s trying to figure out how to put up the siding and roof by himself so if any builders out there want to lend him some advice I’m sure he’ll be really appreciative.

  • EXO HOUSE

Here’s a cool concept for disaster relief housing. These little housing units are inspired by stacking cups and actually fit together just like stacked cups for easy transportation. These little units are estimated to cost about $5000 each. I’d love to see some of these manufactured for homeless shelters.

  • Shomera Solo

I think this is a really well done eco-friendly garden office and I especially like the simple design. One would think that a simple box with a shed roof would be a simple thing to design but this shows how a little extra attention to the details can really set a design apart from others.

  • Don Botsford’s Treehouse

Here’s another great treehouse from the Monday Morning Treehouse series on This Tiny House. It’s the treehouse of Don Botsford in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Don actually has two treehouses on his 20-acre property which he bought back in 1975 and turned into a nature preserve.

  • Everland Portable Hotel

It seems like you never quite know where this tiny portable hotel will show up. It’s sat on top of an ancient museum in Germany, had a view of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and been on a luxury hotel in Tokyo. It’s a cool small design built originally as an installation art project by Sabina Lang and Daniel Baumann.
