Vina Lustado has lived in her tiny house in Ojai, California for two and a half years. She is also the founder/owner of Sol Haus Design.
Pictured here is the 16-foot Sol Pod, a new design by Vina. It’s set-up to be functional & flexible and meet a variety of needs like backyard cottage, office space, art studio or guesthouse.
She used SIPs (structural insulated panels) for its construction. Ample natural light fills the interior. An off-grid solar system provides power. Innovative storage drawers are hidden below the raised floor inside the studio. It has a small kitchen, but no bathroom.

Is there a Bathroom?
Hi Kimberly! There is no bathroom in this model for many reasons: for more mobililty, to reduce cost, to reduce weight and size, and to avoid the legal issues that comes with sewage hookups. With that said, I have designed several models with this layout with a bathroom, on a 20′ trailer. Hope that helps!

What a fabulous work space! That would make the most amazing sewing studio. I could fit most of my fabric collection in there if I used the loft too and plenty of space for sewing machines and cutting table. A tiny bit of space would need to be used for a composting toilet though, unless it was awfully close to the house or an outhouse.
Last photo: Nice bumpout solution for the kitchen. Is the bit of green foliage on the top corner of the roof a “topping out ceremony” homage to the building Gods – or did you run into something green?
I echo the other reader’s comments about the lack of a compact bath. If I was going to spend big bucks on a tiny house, then I want it to be “self-contained”.
